Jessica, her sweater, Eric, and Maxwell in Hawaii on Christmas Eve. (Splash News)With
all the money Jessica Simpson has, you’d think she could spring for
some new clothes. On Christmas Eve, during a family holiday in Oahu,
Hawaii, the pregnant star hit the beach in her seemingly-favorite
article of clothing: a green Theory sweater she has owned since 2005!
Even stranger, Simpson, 32, paired the oversized “Juliette” poncho with
Ugg boots, despite the fact temperatures reached a high of 82 degrees on
the island that day. But she had good reason for all the covering up:
she was hiding her baby bump! The very next day, on December 25, the
“Fashion Star” mentor finally announced on Twitter that her 7-month-old
daughter Maxwell Drew was going to be a “big sis.”
Simpson, 32, has gotten very good use out
of her green sweater over the seven years she’s had it: She wore it over
leggings for a run to the grocery store in April 2005, with flare jeans
and pointy boots for a day out in September 2006, and even as a mini
dress with sky-high blue suede wedges to show off her toned legs in May
2011.[Related: Jessica Simpson Taking Break From Weight Watchers During Second Pregnancy]
Two months earlier, in March of that year, Simpson told People her favorite sweater “has been through a lot … It’s my magic sweater!” And it has gotten just as much action out of the public eye. “I like to wear [it] with just underwear around the house,” the fashion designer added with a laugh.

Now that it’s official that she’s expecting her second child with fiancé Eric Johnson, some wondered if Simpson’s $4 million deal with Weight Watchers would be in jeopardy, but that doesn’t appear to be the case. On Tuesday, the company tweeted out their congratulations to their famous client: “Congrats...what an amazing year you've had.” They also put out a press release noting that Simpson “will not be following the program during the pregnancy while her weight and well-being are monitored by her obstetrician, as is recommended for any woman during pregnancy,” in addition to a new ad spot, where Simpson shares her happy baby news with viewers.
